What is Paddo?
Paddo is a digital duck-hunting game. You hide virtual ducks in real-world locations and use your phone’s camera and augmented reality (AR) to discover ducks hidden by other players. Your finds become part of your collection.
Do I need physical rubber ducks?
No. The ducks in Paddo are digital. You see them through your device in real places, so you do not need to buy, carry, or leave physical ducks behind.
Is Paddo free?
Paddo is free to download. Optional themed duck packs are available as in-app purchases. Review each pack and its price in the app before buying; current availability and prices are shown by Apple.
Can I play without going on a cruise?
Yes. Ducks by Land brings hiding and finding to everyday places, including parks, local outings, and trips. Choose appropriate places where you have permission to play and follow any venue rules.
Which devices can I use?
Paddo is available for compatible iPhone and iPad devices. Check the App Store listing for the current operating-system and device requirements before downloading. AR features also depend on device capabilities.
What if there are no ducks nearby?
Try another area, or start the fun by hiding a duck from your collection in an appropriate location. You can explore that area with someone who also has Paddo. Nearby finds depend on where other players have placed ducks.
How do I hide or find a duck?
Choose a duck from your collection and follow the in-app AR placement steps to hide it. To find ducks, explore nearby areas in Paddo and follow the camera prompts. See our three-step walkthrough for the basic loop.
What should I check before a cruise?
Check your sailing and the cruise setup available in the app before you travel. Cruise gameplay depends on supported ports and cruise sessions; do not assume every ship or sailing is supported. Plan for connectivity for account and shared-hunt features, and do not assume all features work offline.
Do I need an account?
Paddo offers sign-in through supported providers so account-based progress and gameplay can stay connected to you. Follow the sign-in options in your installed version. Never share your password or sign-in code with another player.
Is Paddo suitable for families?
Paddo is designed as a lighthearted game for families and other explorers. Adults should help younger players choose appropriate places, stay aware of their surroundings, and use location and sharing features carefully. Read our Community Guidelines.
